…is a seasoned attorney and accomplished business leader with extensive experience spanning corporate law and strategic development in the entertainment, intellectual property, and media industries. With a career defined by impactful leadership and innovative problem-solving, Jefferson has held prominent roles from start-ups to multinational corporations.
Jefferson earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, where he was President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, and provided pro bono legal aid for the Intellectual Property Community Law Clinic. He developed strong skills in research and legal writing, further solidifying his foundation as a legal and business professional. While in law school, Jefferson also worked in business affairs for Capitol, Virgin and Blue Note Records in New York City.
Prior to joining Edge and Kimbell Law, Jefferson worked as General Counsel at Marcus Entertainment where he thrived in an agile environment while driving growth in a start-up context. He advised senior executives on complex business and legal matters, developed data privacy regulations, engaged with external counsel, and crafted growth strategies that balanced legal risks with business opportunities. His expertise in intellectual property, corporate governance, and strategic negotiations was integral to the company’s success.
Before this, Jefferson spent a decade at Warner Bros. Discovery, within Business & Legal Affairs. In this capacity, he managed a team of 10 legal professionals and oversaw a wide range of responsibilities that included oversight of licensing, production, and talent negotiations for HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, spearheaded initiatives to streamline operations, litigation management, and compliance with union and regulatory standards.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Discovery, he worked on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee, and founded a successful law firm where he provided legal and strategic counsel to clients in the music and entertainment industries. Jefferson also spent time in his early career volunteering at the Atlanta Lawyers for the Arts, as well as time in Los Angeles, working on Grammy Awards research for the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences
Jefferson is licensed to practice law in both Georgia and Tennessee.
